Chlorine dioxide has a high diffusion rate in gas form, spreading to high places, low places, and confined spaces, and the gas can pass through gypsum board. Chlorine dioxide gas has a weaker oxidizing power compared to sodium hypochlorite, ozone, peracetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide, resulting in lower corrosiveness to materials, and it is less likely to oxidize iron and manganese compared to oxygen, ozone, and chlorine.
